With religion declining in western culture, it still retains one stronghold that mos people stll adhere to marriage. Most people still prefer to have weddings and other ceremonies in churchs and ministers to conduct ceremonies though it could be against there belief.

So when the question of gay marriage rasied it is automatically rejectd for biases against the church, for example the christian church. These and ote ideas bar this practice to weasel its way into the church.

For my project I want to wield a box, deformed looking cage is a better answer made out of wielded metal. Metal appearing stale and cold. I the center will be a wielded abstract heart with organic arteries escapng the cage. The heart will be covered in reglious symbols

what I thought of the article extended and prosthetic bodies

In the article, “Extended and Prosthetic Bodies,” from the Artists’ Body magazine, it covers a discipline of art that has been used over the past couple of decades by using the human body as a medium, sometimes of the artist themselves, to create art pieces or to create a “new identity.” Several of the pieces used technology in various ways to prove a point. For example, “Electric Dress” by Atsuko Tamaka, technology was used to highlight the human body, while “The Third Arm” by Stelarc, a robotic arm was crafted and grafted onto the artist’s body. The project, “Divided by Resistance” by Bruce Gilcrest and Jonathon Bradley, was an epic project of both the audio and visual fields. While one of the artists were asleep, their brain and skin resistance were scanned and translated by computers; this information was broadcasted by both speakers and a projector. The hand was fully functional and used the artist’s body signals to control the hand. Other projects danced around the idea of absurd or disturbing. In the project, “Event for Stretched Skin” by Stelarc, the artist placed 27 meat hooks in his own flesh and suspended himself above the cityscape. He says that performing this act of sadism will show a “gravitational landscape.” I think he wants to show the world he is crazy. Also in the work, “Hyperventilation” by Helf Rekula, The artist was trying to avoid penetration of the outside world; so all orifices were self contained and all waste consumed. The piece is effective from keeping impact away from the exploitation, but I believe that the idea is a tad grotesque.
